I have loved malts and malted milk since I was a wee one.
These cookies combine the best of a chocolate chip cookie with the depth that
only malt can give.
Ingredients:
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup brown sugar, lightly packed
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
½ cup malted milk powder (I used Carnation® Original flavor)
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line two baking sheets with foil. Spray the
baking sheets with cooking spray.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugars together
until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat again. In another
bowl, stir together the flour, malted milk powder, baking soda and salt. Add
the flour mixture slowly into the butter mixture until well combined. Stir in
the chocolate chips, drop by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking
sheets. Bake for about 11-14 minutes (you
will be the best judge of how your oven cooks) and remove from oven. Let cool
slightly and enjoy with milk!
